Animal Kingdom
Today I was in charge of the camera -
The family arrive at Animal Kingdom.
Yet again it was a
blistering hot day.
We learned a big lesson after yesterday's trip to the Magic Kingdom -
this was to slow down, plan the day like a military operation and drinks lots of
liquids.
The first ride we went
on was the animal safari. It was excellent, we saw rhino's,
alligators, elephants and lots more. Here are a few of the pictures I took.
We then went on a
train ride that took us round different parts of
Animal Kingdom that people don't usually see.
It took us through
where the animals lived, slept and sheltered.
We also saw a new baby rhino that was born in the park.
The next thrill ride
was the Kali River Rapids.
Disney have a rule
that if you have a baby or toddler with you, then you
can do the baby swap.
This means you all queue up for the ride, then when you are 5 minutes from
getting on the ride, one of the parents stays in an area with the baby. Once the
ride has finished the parents swap babysitting duties then he /she goes to the
front of the queue and gets on the ride. This meant both me and Emma got to do
most rides twice. Cool eh!!!
We all got absolutely
drenched on this ride...it was great fun.
We went back to the hotel to chill and dry off.
We came back to the
park at around 5 o'clock. It was much cooler
and not as busy as earlier in the day.
Dad and Emma decided they would go on the dinosaur ride
while me, Alison and Connor watched the Lion King show.
This show was fab - here are some photo's
After the show we went
on the It's Tough to Be a Bug ride.
This was 3D cinema. It was good and I especially liked it when the stink bug
came out. The show was screened inside the tree of life. The tree is massive and
looks spectacular. It has over 325 different animals carved into it.
Next was a photo shoot with Pooh, Goofy, Pluto and eeyore. Sadly dads camera batteries ran out so we had to take them with Alison's normal camera.
Emma told Alison she
had to do the Dinosaur ride so dad, Connor and
myself went into the Bone yard.
Slip, slither, slide and crawl through a play maze built around the fun fossil
remains of Triceratops, T Rex, and other vanished giants. You can even dig up
the bones of a wooly mammoth in a dig site. Me and Connor loved it here.
This was a park in which you could be in a dream.
After the park closed we had dinner in the Rainforest Cafe. It’s a wild place to shop and eat! This unique cafe re-creates a tropical rain forest through a combination of live and animated wildlife and special effects.
Altogether a really cool day. We went back to the hotel tired, but happy.
